Everything Present in the Seed: Community Leadership Training

Everything Present in the Seed: Community Leadership Training is a curriculum for community members to discover their innate leadership values and skills while improving their literacy and essential skills. The curriculum presents materials and tools to help community groups and literacy programs nurture those inherent gifts. The curriculum is aimed at participants who care deeply about their communities and want to know more about community development. The manual was specifically designed to be accessible to participants who have not necessarily completed high school or who have English as an additional language.

Developed through a community-university partnership funded by the Office of Literacy and Essential Skills, Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, the EPIS Community Leadership Training curriculum takes an asset-based approach to community development and community leadership training. The materials include a Manual aimed at volunteers who are passionate about improving their community and who want to gain community leadership skills. The manual has 13 chapters with sections on key ideas, new words and workshop activities.

There are posters and a facilitator’s guide also available.
