Come Read With Me
Come Read With Me is a program designed by Fiona Clare, Literacy in Kamloops, to increase reading motivation and confidence. It is offered in a one-and-a-half-hour session that includes time for parents only and for parents and children together. Parents learn ways to support their young readers at home and then read together with their child and play word games. A handbook for parents, “Reading Success at Home” is used.
These resources were presented at Decoda’s 2017 conference. The PowerPoint presentation and facilitator notes were updated in 2022. Reading Success at Home was updated in 2023.
