Workplace Wednesday: Literacy Express
Date posted: January 29, 2014
The latest issue of CLLN’s Literacy Express (Winter 2013/14) is now available. The theme is Workplace LES Training: Connecting Supply and Demand. It’s a quick and interesting read.
The interview about the Advancing Workplace Learning project mentions Decoda’s Embedding handbook, Embedding Literacy and Essential Skills: Lessons from our Research, as a great introduction to embedding for practitioners. It’s available online or in print. To borrow a copy from the library, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Coming soon is an IPRD – Integrated Planning and Reporting Database. This tool will collect together information about funded L/ES projects across Canada. It will provide access to project information, promising practices and program innovations that may not otherwise be widely shared. We’ll keep you updated when the IPRD goes live.
And those of you who attended Decoda’s conference in November will remember the presentation to Ellen Szita of CLLN’s lifetime achievement award. If you or your learners would like to learn more about Ellen, email email@example.com to borrow a copy of her autobiography. There’s also a study guide available. (By the way, did you know that notes from many of the conference presentations are now online?)
