The Internet and social media are a significant part of the day-to-day lives of many First Nation, Inuit and Métis people. This book is designed to help increase understanding of social media and text messaging. Content includes popular social networks, email, texting, voice and video calls, online etiquette and online communication. Culturally relevant short stories reinforce the lessons.
A separate teacher’s guide includes discussions prompts, activities and assignments developed for delivery in a small-group setting, to facilitate discussions and working with others, but they can also be used in a one-on-one setting. This guide is available for free download here.
