Sesame Street in Communities

It’s Family Friday!
Do you work with families with young children? Do you have a young family? Sesame Street in Communities is a website designed for you, the people who provide the “circle of care” that surrounds children.
The web site provides free evidence-based resources to parents, caregivers, and community providers to help children to grow up healthy, mentally and physically. The resources include articles, workshops, printables, and videos.
A new initiative is a set of resources for helping children cope with traumatic experiences, including divorce, parental substance abuse or mental illness, witnessing domestic violence, and neglect. It includes videos for children featuring Muppets modelling coping strategies. Accompanying material for adults provides information on how to teach children coping strategies. Here’s a sample video:
