PIAAC Data: Research and Practice
Date posted: November 26, 2014
The Centre for Literacy has posted presentations from the Summer Institute 2014: Exploring PIAAC Data – Enriching research, supporting practice.
While many of the presentations are from an international perspective, Steve Reder provided a preliminary analysis of the PIAAC reading data for Canadians in Low-Skilled Readers in Canada: Results for Level 1 and Below. It included information on PIAAC’s approach to measuring reading skills and practice, what the results show, and what these results might mean for instructional programs. Donald Lurette of RESDAC responded to this presentation drawing on his experience working in Francophone communities in Canada.
