Jenny Horsman, who is well known for her work on learning and violence, has created a new video, Our Brilliant Brains, explaining how the experiences of violence can make it hard to learn and make sense of the world.  The video includes simple strategies that can help people return to learning in the aftermath of violence.  A part of the Taking Shelter with Literacy project in Alberta, this video was developed for shelter workers working with women and children fleeing violence, but the information is useful in other contexts.
