This week is North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week. The May 1st to May 7th campaign focuses on promoting injury prevention in the workplace. This year’s theme is Safety & Health: Make Safety a Habit.

Would you like to help people in your program stay safe at work? Decoda’s Building Resilient Workers: Health and Safety at Work curriculum teaches participants about workplace safety. It covers:
• Rights and responsibilities
• Hazards in the workplace
• Workplace First Aid
• Ergonomics
• Workplace violence.
The essential skills of reading, writing and oral communication at embedded in the curriculum.

The facilitator’s guide, Building Resilient Workers, and the student workbook, Health and Safety at Work, are available for purchase (printed hard copy) or for free download.

Building Resilient Workers: Health and Safety at Work is a collaboration between the BCFED Health & Safety Centre and Decoda Literacy Solutions. The project is funded by WorkSafeBC, which is dedicated to promoting workplace health and safety for the workers and employers of BC.
