Freeze Dance is a fun activity for parents and young children that combines music and movement. You need space for dancing and something to make music that is easy to start and stop (e.g. CD player, musical instrument, your voice). The game is simple. Play or make music and invite your child to move to the music. When it stops, the adult says ‘freeze’ and the child holds their position until the music starts again. For young children, pause the music for 3 or 4 seconds. Try different kinds of movements and different kinds of music.
