ESL Pull-Out Kits

The Minnesota Literacy Council has developed instructions for making ESL Pull-Out Kits. Each kit addresses a specific skill area and contains a list of materials, instructions for assembling the kit, detailed instructions for activities, handouts and supporting materials.
Created to support volunteer tutors, the kits were also designed to save teachers time. Teachers provide volunteers with weekly vocabulary words or a copy of reading text and the kits provide activities with supporting materials.

Centred on 3 themes – doctor 1, numbers 1, and clothing 1 – this resources is designed for tutors and short classes with limited student contact. In addition to a teacher’s guide with detailed instructions for activities and games, this resource includes 3 Student Books, 6 literacy readers, 3 homework books.
