eLearning Toolkit for ELL teachers
Date posted: March 5, 2019
The online ELL classroom is different from the traditional face-to-face classroom. And, there are a variety of online ELL contexts – fully online, blended, and face-to-face. Bow Valley College has produced a resource to help language teachers develop methods, strategies and a mindset for using online and digital technology.
The eLearning Toolkit aims to increase ELL instructors’ expertise in planning, facilitating, and evaluating online language learning with a focus on ways to promote accessibility, enhance communication, and foster engagement. It includes a variety of teacher resources and learner activities that increase instructor presence, decrease learner isolation, and address three common barriers to online learning.
The Toolkit is organized into three section: Establish, Facilitate and Evaluate. The tools are divided into Learning Activities or Instructional Resources and are collected together in the Tools database.
