Demystifying the Benchmarks Part 1

The Community Adult Literacy Benchmarks have been in use in BC for nearly nine years. How well do we understand them? How comfortable are we in using them in our programs to inform practice and support learner assessment? In this session educators will learn about the benchmarks, where they came from, and how they are used to measure progress. Looking at the reading and writing domains, we will examine the cognitive processes that exist within these domains, increase understanding about what they are and how they fit together to support the development of complex essential skills.
