My experience of driving tests in Canada

By Mei Sun

When I first time arrived in Canada I was excited, curious and nervous. I didn’t understand a lot of things. I felt very sad. I thought “I must change the situation. I need to meet new friends and learn more about different culture.”

So we decided to buy new car, but the driving test was different at that time than I thought, because of the language.  I didn’t worry my driving level, because China’s traffic is very complicated. My husband the 1st time passed test to get a driver’s license. He was very proud. It gave me confidence. I hired a coach and that coach said “you are good driver. You just have a few bad habits”. It gave me more confidence.

On the day of the test, I thought “first time maybe I can’t pass test, I will just try” so I was carful driver and I felt don’t nervous. Finally I was passed the 1st time test. I told my husband. He was very happy and gave me a big hug.

This is Mei’s submission about overcoming a challenge which was submitted to our Literacy is Life contest in September, 2016.
