World Poetry Day

Saturday, March 21st, is World Poetry Day. It recognizes the unique ability of poetry to capture the creative spirit of the human mind. And it is also meant to encourage a return to the oral tradition of poetry recital, to promote the teaching of poetry, and support linguistic diversity through poetic expression.
Poetry slams are poetry competitions in which poets perform their original work alone or in teams before an audience. The following video explains what a poetry slam is, how to set one up in school, and the benefits for the competitors.
