Tech Tuesday – Do you have a technology story to tell?
Date posted: April 16, 2013
It’s Tech Tuesday, highlighting resources on literacy, technology, and the digital world. Today we’re featuring an opportunity, not a resource.
The Change Agent is a social justice newspaper designed for intermediate level adult learners. Produced in March and September, each issue focuses on a different topic that is relevant to learners’ lives. Each issue includes articles written by students and teachers. The latest issue is “Good jobs, not just any jobs!”.
The theme of the next issue is technology – computers, mobile phones, etc. There is currently a call for submissions: stories (200 – 1200 words), illustrations, cartoons, and graphics. Any practitioner, tutor or adult learner can submit material for consideration. Practitioners and tutors are encouraged to work with students to develop a contribution. The Call for Articles contains writing prompts and general guidelines, as well as contact information. A $50 stipend is paid to each adult education student whose work is accepted. Deadline is May 3, 2013.
We have print copies of the Change Agent from 2008 in the library. To borrow any of these issues, including the latest issue on jobs, email
