Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month
Date posted: April 11, 2018
April is Mathematics and Statistics Awareness Month. It’s a time to increase our awareness and appreciation of both.
Why? Mathematics and statistics play a significant role in addressing many real-world problems–internet security, sustainability, disease, climate change, the data deluge, and much more. They also play an important role in everyday life – budgeting, calculating interest, measuring ingredients, and making change.
Did you know that the Decoda Literacy Library has a collection of resources on teaching math? Take a look at our Numeracy Resource list to see what’s available. If you live in BC, you can borrow books on math anxiety, math teaching strategies, math games, math workbooks, family math, and more. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to request a loan.
