You can have fun while building numeracy skills!

Thanks to a grant from the Hamber Foundation we have been developing our numeracy collection, and that includes books with fun math activities. Here are some of the books with dice games recently added to the collection:

Rolling into math
This book includes the instructions for more than 40 dice games reinforcing basic math skills, including counting, addition, subtractions, patterning, multiplication, place value, graphing and problem solving. The games are organized by skills being practiced and skill level, and include teaching tips, black line masters and recording sheets, journal writing questions and student samples.

Math fun”die”mentals
This book includes the instructions for more than 40 dice games reinforcing math skills, including all operations, place value and decimals, fractions, data analysis, probability, pre-algebra and problem solving. The games are organized by skills being practiced and skill level, and include teaching tips, black line masters and recording sheets, journal writing questions and student samples.

Dice works for kids: math games for kids using special dice
This book contains instructions for 80 games that teach and explore math concepts using 10, 12 or 20-sided dice (2 of each accompany the book). The games focus on counting, place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, and mixed operations. There are games for a variety of skill levels.

While these games were designed for children, they are fun for everyone and appropriate for use in reinforcing math skills in adults.
