International Day of Families

Date posted: May 15, 2015

Today is International Day of Families and the theme for 2015 is Men in Charge? Gender Equality and Children’s Rights in Contemporary Families.

The 2015 observance of the International Day of Families aims to raise awareness and mobilize support for action to ensure gender equality and rights of children within families and prevent family violence through fair family law frameworks and a variety of programme interventions.

The Legal Services Society of BC has produced a number of publications that explain family law in British Columbia. Many of these documents have been translated.

A quick introduction to the basics of family law is available in Family Law in BC: Quick Reference Tool. Guide to the New BC Family Law Act gives more detailed information on the BC Family Law Act.

For more information, visit the Family Law in British Columbia website or look at the JP Boyd on Family Law Clicklaw wikibook.
