Guide for Trusted Adults
Date posted: April 18, 2017
A Guide for Trusted Adults is designed to prepare parents/guardians, teachers, mentors, health and wellness providers, law enforcement, and technology professional to be the trusted adults girls and young women need when they have problems online. It includes:
- practical information about the issues girls and young women face
- conversation-starters for adults to start talking to them about these issues
- ways to support and advocate for them
- information on legal issues that can affect girls’ online lives.
This guide is a collaboration between YWCA Canada, MediaSmarts and Status of Women Canada.
Information and help for youth (13 to 17 years old) who are experiencing trouble online as well as adults supporting them can be found at NeedHelpNow.ca.
