For Adult Basic Education (ABE) educators who teach science, David J. Rosen has developed a list of free online science videos for adult learners. Here are four that he recommends:

  • TV411 – This website offers multimedia learning material for adult learners. The science lessons focus on cooking as a theme, and include videos on bacteria, heat, carbohydrates, photosynthesis, salt and water. There are accompanying print materials.
  • OER Commons – The content of this website is a collection of open education resources. From their Browse the Resources page, you can limit your search to “adult education” and “science and technology” and “video lectures” to find science videos for adult learners.
  • CK12 Science – With student and teacher sections, this website creates and aggregates selected STEM resources. It includes videos, audio files, images, text, quizzes and interactive learning objects in Earth Science, Life Scienc e, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • Khan Academy Science Videos  – A lot of people are familiar with Khan Academy’s math videos, but it has videos on a large variety of topics, including science. Some may be useful for ABE educators.
