If you are working with youth or planning to work with youth, Literacy Link South Central and the NWT Literacy Council have produced recent reports that can help inform your work.

Marketing, Engaging and Maintaining Youth: tools for youth programming (ages 18-29) is a series of reports and tools that look at how to attract youth to literacy programming and how to increase success when working with youth.

“Reconnect”: Re-engaging Disengaged Northern Youth in Learning: Final Evaluation Report describes the results of a project to improve youth literacy and essential skills (LES) by increasing community capacity to re-engage disengaged northern youth in learning. It tested a community-based model applied to embedding LES into youth programs. For more information, there is also an annotated literature review available for this project.

If you’re working with young parents, the information in Skills Builders for Young Parents Program (2013-2015): Final Evaluation Report shares lessons learned along with the program goals, outcomes and outputs.
