The award-winning Educational Curriculum Manual: Employment Training for Low Literacy Immigrant Women is available online.  Developed by the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association, it was written for teachers and administrators looking for workforce training resources for immigrant women with less than 12 years of education in their country of origin.  The training model is modular and flexible, and is designed to fit students’ lives and address the unique multiple barriers immigrant women face in obtaining employment.

Targeted at employment training for the cleaning industry, this curriculum is based on five 10 hour modules: interview skills, cleaning skills, WHMIS, working with others, and health and safety.  Lesson plans, PowerPoint slides, handouts and teaching resources are included.
