Every year the British Columbia Library Association and public libraries throughout BC sponsor a Summer Reading Club. This year’s theme is Build It!

With seven weekly sub-themes, there’s sure to be something to appeal to everyone:

  1. Build the Future – sci-fi/futuristic technology
  2. Build Your Story – biography, journals etc
  3. Build it Yourself – crafts, DIY
  4. Built to Last – architecture/structures
  5. Build Your Imagination – fantasy/animation etc
  6. Build for Fun – games, puzzles, LEGO etc.
  7. Build a Mystery – mystery and horror

You can find instructions for making an origami crane, paper rocket, and Lego Boing on the BC Summer Reading Club Maker Guide.   You’ll also find a quiz, colouring sheets and printable transfers for building your own T-shirt.

For more information, including book suggestions for various ages for each sub-theme, visit the BC Summer Reading Club 2015 website.

Enjoy some family reading fun this summer. Visit your public library!
